Traditional Thai massage, commonly known by its native name, Nuad Bo-Ran, has been around for over 2,500 years.

The Thai massage offers a unique experience, especially considering its focus on improving the flow of energy through the body along the energy lines, called “Sen” in Thai.

Here are what you can expect during a Thai Massage session

  • A passive Yoga with a direct pressure

Traditional Thai massage involves stretching, and application of direct pressure. You will be going through passive yoga movements with the assistance of your massage therapist.

  • Padded Mat on the floor

With the traditional Thai massage, you will lie down on a padded mat on the floor while wearing loose clothing. This differs from some other versions of massage where you lie on a table with barely any clothes on.

  • No Lotion or Oil Used

The Thai traditional massage does not involve the use of oil or lotion, as is the case with some massage forms. During Thai Massage session, the therapists use their hands, forearms, knees, elbows, and feet to apply pressure to your muscles.

  • Many Positions during the Massage Session

Thai massage will require you to go through several poses with the assistance of your massage therapist. You will lie on your back, stomach, sides, and even sit on the mat. A truly comprehensive Thai massage will have you go through all these positions to ensure that all energy lines are improved.
